Annie is the owner + founder of Efficiently Annie LLC. After earning her MBA and with a decade in corporate marketing and operations experience under her belt, she ditched the power suit in pursuit of something more fulfilling.

Led by her knack for project management and process organization, she developed a reputation as a dynamic and dependable virtual assistant. But it wasn’t long before she began to realize the need for creative businesses owners to build a stronger foundation of simple, streamlined, repeatable workflows that would sustain them as they evolved and inevitably grew.

In this episode, Annie is sharing so many little nuggets of wisdom on how you can truly find the balance you need to design and live life on your terms. Annie is a master when it comes to systems, especially (my favorite) Asana, but her journey wasn't always as smooth sailing as it is today.

As she dives into what success means to her, and only her, Annie also touches on her many moments of pivoting in her business and why giving yourself permission to be you will provide the room your business needs to grow and evolve the way it's supposed to.

Here’s a look inside her Asana board we chatted about in this episode:

Some of the other things we cover in the episode:

  • Pivoting from a VA to a Project Manager

  • Allowing business owners to step out of the "do-er" role and into the role of the visionary for their business

  • Separating planning and doing in your business

  • Simple and repeatable systems

  • Trial and error with systems

  • Finding balance with to-do lists

  • Mastering Asana

  • Annie's thoughts on the "season of hustle"

  • Making the right choices using systems

  • Building and designing your business your way, on your own terms

  • Defining success according to you and no one else

  • Being open to looking local when hiring a team

PERMISSION SLIP:

Annie shared so many reasons why managing your operations is important to giving you the ability to scale your business beyond what you are currently doing.

So your permission slip today is to be your own operations manager and audit your systems from a CEO perspective. Take a step back from your business and look at it with the eyes of an outsider and give yourself some clear action items for upgrading your operations.

And if you’re so inclined - check out Asana. It’s both of our favorite tool for organizing everything in our business (and a good chunk of our personal life). The free plan is amazing. I’ve been using it for 3 years now and am still loving the free plan.
