Building Relationships through Co-Working Spaces with Megan Hemphill of Firebrand Collective
BURNOUT-PROOF YOUR BUSINESS PODCAST | WORKFLOW & PRODUCTIVITY SPECIALIST | CO-WORKING FOR CREATIVES | NETWORKING FOR CREATIVES | AVOIDING BURNOUT | BOUNDARIES FOR CREATIVE BUSINESS OWNERS
Megan started as a photographer balancing toddlers and the life of a solopreneur. The loneliness of running her own business eventually inspired her to open a co-working space that would help other entrepreneurs collaborate and make connections.
Now she runs Firebrand Collective, a Kansas City co-working space created by women, for women. Megan shares her journey of how she balances personal life and business, tell-tale signs that you may need a co-working space, and the benefits of joining one.

Today's Permission Slip:
Each episode I give you a permission slip - a reminder to give yourself permission to run your business and live your dream life on your own terms.
Megan shared a lot of amazing benefits of co-working with others. I’m an avid believer that getting out of your house and working around others can be a great way to shake things up, find your productive groove again, and reenergize yourself. Not to mention all the social and relationship benefits you’ll gain from co-working. Hello new biz besties!
So today I want you to look for co-working opportunities. There might not be a co-working space near you, but I guarantee there are other creatives that would love to meet up. Or a coffee shop that has a couple other freelancers or small business owners working from laptops during the day.
Get out and find those people, those places, and your place there.
I give myself permission to look for co-working opportunities in my area.
I know getting out and meeting new people is scary - when I went to my first Tuesdays Together meeting I had a panic attack in the car before I worked up the courage to open the car door and go meet the group - but it’s almost always worth it! Give yourself permission to go for it.
