The Power of Saying "No"

If you are feeling overwhelmed or stressed, there's a good chance it's because you are over-scheduled and over-committed. That happens when we say “yes” to too many things and aren't discerning about the opportunities that come to us - we just take everything that comes our way and hope for the best.
But by learning to say "no" to the things that aren't a good fit, we actually create more space for the things that we really want to say "yes" to.

Getting comfortable saying “no” doesn’t have to be hard or stressful. Begin with little things - no to checking email for the 5th time today or no to that event this weekend that you really don’t want to go to anyway.
Start small to let yourself get used to saying “no.” Gradually begin declining larger requests and you’ll find that you’ll enjoy getting to choose something better, allowing space for something you really desire.
So your permission slip today is to start small. Say no to something that isn’t serving you right now. Allow yourself to let go of that thing and say “yes” to something that does serve you.
I give myself permission to say "no" to something that isn't serving me right now so I can say "yes" to something better.
