Using PR to Become an Expert and Grow Your Audience with Monica Woodhams
Monica Woodhams is the owner of 45 Fairmount, LLC where she helps female entrepreneurs and influences establish their expertise beyond their immediate network by getting them booked on podcasts. In addition to producing two podcasts of her own - Influencer Girl Lifestyle and How to Pretend to Like Sports - Monica shares her expertise in her self-study course, Influencer Girl Lifestyle Success School Self Study, and does all the behind the scenes work for publishing and pitching podcasts for her clients.
Monica has transformed her business over the years - starting out as a blogger and influencer and pivoting several times as her interests and the market has changed - so she knows her stuff! Now she's helping other entrepreneurs and influencers share their expertise with the world through PR.
On a personal note, Monica is my own business coach and has helped me pivot from designing custom wedding stationery to helping overwhelmed and stressed-out entrepreneurs organize and streamline their businesses. She also does all my podcast editing, publishing, and pitching. I highly recommend using someone for this - and Monica is an expert and so good at matching you to the perfect podcasts.
In this episode, Monica shares all about what PR (public relations) is, why it's essential to any business, and how to leverage it to become an expert and grow your audience.

Today's Permission Slip:
Each episode I give you a permission slip - a reminder to give yourself permission to run your business and live your dream life on your own terms.
In today’s episode Monica shared a TON of information about using PR as a growth strategy, including as a way to get in front of other audiences. So today’s challenge is to ask a friend - someone you know personally (i.e. 1 degree of separation only) - to share with their audience.
It might be writing a guest post on their blog. It might be joining them on an Instagram or Facebook Live on their account. It might be being a guest on their podcast. Whatever it is - allow yourself to get out of your comfort zone, broaden your reach, and start getting seen as the expert you are!
I give myself permission to share my expertise with a new audience.
Feel free to download these images and use as your screensaver, print it out and put it on your desk, or even share it on social media. All I ask is that if you share it, you tag me - @chelseabfoster - so I can support you and cheer you on this week!
